The Sisters of Notre Dame started the school in the Augustinian Monastery with 27 pupils in Grade 1 to 9.
Enrollment reached 100 pupils.
A new School consisting of four classrooms for Grades 1 to 8 was built under the direction of Father Othmar and the labor of parishioners and Army Personnel. The auditorium was added and was also used as a church.

An Adventure Playground was constructed by parents volunteers.
A School Library was constructed at the back of the stage in the auditorium.
Two new classrooms were added to the main buildings. A Learning Assistance room and Staff room were built and a Learning Assistance program started.
A larger Kindergarten room was built. P.E. change rooms were added. A new Staff room was built in the old Kindergarten room. P.R.E.P. coordinator and Principal each received an office
The 40th Anniversary of the School. A School Choir is formed.
Public Address System Installed Uniforms introduced.
Additional equipment for the Adventure Playground was added.
Portable purchased for Grade 7. Library moved into former Grade Seven room. Computers Placed in former Library area. Family Groupings started.
New windows installed east and west side of the classroom wing. Computer Programs Developed. Enrichment Program began. School Offices renovated to provide a separate Principal's office. Adventure playground renovated and new equipment added. Odyssey of the Mind. Whole Language approach in Kindergarten to Grade 3.

The school has 16 divisions and 380 students enrolled. There are now 2 classes at each grade level from Kindergarten to Grade 7.
Sacred Heart scored 1st overall in Delta on the FSA results for students in Grades 4 and 7 and placed 79th out of 813 elementary schools in the Province. Enrollment has reached the 400 mark.
A school computer network takes shape with new servers and PC’s in the intermediate classrooms. Full time Kindergarten begins. and classrooms shuffled to accommodate a second Kindergarten class. Intermediate French class moves into an old Parish Centre classroom.

New Servers support a thin client network in the classrooms. The sports field is purchased from the Augustinians.
