After weeks of preparation, it was great to see the children’s smiling faces and great energy back in our school yesterday morning! On behalf of the staff of Sacred Heart School, I thank you for entrusting your child’s Catholic education to us. We look forward to working with you to help your child become the best person they can be. We will have our Annual General Meeting with our Parish Education Committee and Meet the Teachers Night tomorrow beginning at 7:00 pm in the gym. We hope that you are able to join us.
New Family Welcome!
Date: Wednesday, September 14, 2016
Time: 7:00 – 8:30 P.M.
Location: Sacred Heart School, Grade 7 Classroom (upstairs)
Dear New Families,
Sacred Heart School would like to extend a very warm welcome! We are very excited to have you join our school and Parish.
Next Wednesday we will be hosting an information evening about our school. The purpose of the evening is to let you know about the wonderful events that happen at SHS, as well sharing helpful ‘nice to know and need to know’ tips on how to make your school year a fantastic one. We will talk about volunteer opportunities, drop off and pick up procedures, how to navigate the SHS website, tips to help your children and much more. We will also answer any questions you may have. In attendance will be the PEC committee members, PEC representatives, teachers and veteran parents who can share their experiences.
Unifom Exchange Date Change: Due to a scheduling conflict, the Top Marks Uniform representatives will not be available this Thursday before the AGM. Instead, they will be here next week after school on a day to be confirmed shortly.
The Parish Fall Festival: (formerly known as “the Parsh Picnic”)
Where: On the monastery and parish grounds.
When: Sunday September 18th from 12 – 4 pm. Mark Your Calendars! There will be lots of activities, great food including the very famous curly fries cooked by the Knights of Columbus!
Lots of good old fashioned fun for young and old!
The Dinner Dance Auction (DDA) committee has already begun working on this years gala, and we are recruiting new members to join the core team. It’s a great committee to be on and an easy way to get your volunteer hours in before the end of November.
We will have a table for volunteer sign-ups in the school lobby at 6:30pm on Thursday before the AGM. The online volunteer portal (http://portal.onvolunteers.com/login.aspx?s=shs) is also up and running and showcases the complete list of tasks.
If you have any questions, you can reach out to Sarah Fuerniss (DDA Chair) or Dawn Drewey (Volunteer Coordinator) through the messaging tool in the volunteer portal.
This year's DDA, set for the evening of November 26th, is going to be a very exciting event, so please get involved and be a part of its success!
Thank-you in advance,
