In a blink of an eye we are already finished the first week and a half of school. From the early morning into the evening the school is abuzz with such as basketball, band, Odyssey of the Mind, First Lego League Robotics, Missions Club and choir to name a but few. Our focus over the next few weeks is preparing for Catholic Schools Week and in particular, our “Open House/Celebrate Our School” on January 26. Your help in promoting our school and Open House celebration is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your commitment to Catholic education and to Sacred Heart School.
The posted speed limit on the school grounds is 5 km per hour. Thank you for driving slowly and taking precautions to keep everyone safe, especially during this cold and icy time of the year.
Prayer Request: The grandfather of Cohen (Class 4) and Madelyn (Class 2A) Harder passed away just before Christmas. Please keep them and their family in your prayers. Thank you.
Celebrate Our School / Open House Thursday, January 26th, 6:00 pm:
Please join us as we celebrate our school by sharing a meal, touring the classrooms, saying hello to our staff, listening to our band and choirs, learning about our clubs, hitting the dance floor for some kid-style dancing and welcoming new families to tour and see all the amazing things that SHS has to offer. A pasta dinner ($5.00/person) will also be available. Information sheets and order forms will be going home today. Meal orders are due in by January 23rd.
In addition, each family will be receiving information postcards to share with friends or to post where permitted. Referrals are our number one way of introducing our school to others, so please invite your friends and guest to join you.
To help make the evening a success, we do need volunteers. Please refer to our volunteer portal for more information.
Please note that the evening will start at 5:30 pm with Ready, Set, Learn as per the notice below and that Lil’ Saints Preschool will also be open for tours. Thank you and see you on January 26th!

Building Resiliency in Children: We all want to raise happy children who can overcome obstacles and persevere when problems arise…but as parents how do we teach that? We cannot protect our children from the ups and downs but we can give them tools to respond to challenges such as anxiety, decision-making, and navigating social issues. This workshop offers you tools to help your child manage changes in their life.
Andrew Neufeld, Registered Clinical Counsellor, and his experienced team will be coming in to share practical tips, strategies, and resources on how you can foster confidence and resiliency in your child.
