April 25 Spirit Day/Family Groups/Earth Day Activities: Are you excited for Earth Day? The Grade 4 students at Sacred Heart certainly are! Classes 4 and 4A are proud to host our April 'Earth-themed' Spirit Day and Family Group Activities. On Wednesday April 18th, students are asked to come to school wearing one (or more, if you'd like) of the following:
Something that shows the colours of nature (green, brown, blue)
Something that reminds us to care for nature (e.g. a picture of a special animal or place in nature...maybe even a t-shirt from a family trip to a special lake or mountain, or any other idea that fits this theme)
Something that is eco friendly or made in an ecofriendly way (i.e. organic cotton...or any other idea you have that fits this theme)
Simple accessories (hats, etc.) made creatively from recycled objects
Outfits could be as easy or complex to put together as and your family would like to make them! Try to be 'earth-friendly' as well as creative when putting your outfits together. Students (especially Grades 3 and up), might be asked to tell their small group what is special about what they are wearing and why. Photos might also be taken that day with small prizes given for creative ideas.
...Ready?...Set? ...You have 2 weeks to plan your great "Earth Day" outfit...GO!

Baptism: Guard the faith and make it grow! Parents are charged with guarding the faith given to their children at baptism and helping them become true witnesses by example rather than just rules - Pope Francis. By asking the Church for faith for their children through the sacrament of baptism, Christian parents have the task of helping their children to grow so that they “may be witnesses for all of us: also for us priests, bishops, everyone,” the Pope said For the entire text click here
