Dear Parents,

Our Principals for the Day, which will be held on Tuesday, June 12, have decreed it a non-uniform day. Mr. Braden Fox and Ms. Lauren Fox ask that that you wear your brightest coloured clothes on this day! Please stay tuned for more announcements regarding Tuesday.

Good luck to our Track and Field Team, which is competing in Day Two of the CISVA Track and Field Championships today.

God Bless,

Kelly Kozack

Principal

Parent Workshop: Sexuality and Your Child – Grades 4-7:

Can you think of a more cringe worthy conversation topic with your children than sex? How many of us had awkward conversations with our parents about changing bodies and the “birds and the bees”? This parent workshop can help overcome that hurdle and bring connection with our children by exploring ways to bring up the topic of sexuality in a relatable and meaningful ways?

Topics will include:

·      God’s plan for becoming an adult: changes to their body, mind, and emotions;

·      Intimacy, our sexuality, and healthy relationships;

·      Healthy online habits and navigating social media;

·      Protecting from and combating pornography.

This presentation is open to all parents with children in Grades 4 – 7 and will be held on Tuesday, June 12th from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm in the intermediate classrooms in Sacred Heart School.  Signs will be posted to direct parents on the day of the workshop. Please read the Archbishop’s Letter on this topic in the attachment below.

Play Day Parent Volunteers Needed!

Sacred Heart's annual Play Day is fast approaching and we are once again in need of some fantastic parent volunteers! This year's event will be on the morning of Friday, June 15th here at Sacred Heart.  All of the stations will be run by Grade Seven helpers and the students will be supervised in their family groups by teachers. We are in need of parent volunteers to assist the Grade Sevens and for some extra supervision.

If you are interested in volunteering at one of the stations, please notify our volunteer coordinator Keri Frasca (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) no later than Monday, June 11th.  She will get in contact with you and provide you with very clear diagrams and instructions a few days prior to the event.  Each station will be set up for you on the day and cleaned up by our Grade Seven helpers, and we will ensure there is plenty of coffee to drink and goodies for you to munch on as you supervise!

Thank you in advance for all the supervising, volunteering, and extra help you consistently provide for this event every year.  See you on June 23rd and as always, please pray for a sunny day!
