Class 4A

Welcome to Class 4A at Sacred Heart School!

At Sacred Heart School we aim for excellence in education and endeavour to meet the unique needs of every student. Guided by our Catholic faith, and supported by the fabric of family and community, we are committed to meeting the spiritual, academic, physical, and emotional needs of individual students,  Within a learning environment that is both stimulating and supportive, we foster in our students a love of learning, a strong work ethic, and provide them with a solid academic foundation.  It is our hope that when students graduate from Sacred Heart, they leave with a strong moral compass and the self confidence to meet all of life's challenges head on.

Homework

As you have by now come to notice, I tend not to send homework, per se. The exception is usually unfinished school work that needs to be finished the next day. I would ask that students read a book that they like and that is at their level for 20 minutes daily. Parents may want to discuss with their child what they have read, what they liked and what they learned in a short discussion afterwards. It is also helpful for students to read aloud to their parents as this is an excellent way to correct pronunciation and to ensure understanding.

Monday thru Friday:
Read 20 minutes each day, please.

Homework Policy

Homework Policy

Please check your child's planner as your student will write his or her homework in it and it may contain notes from the school that need your attention.  Please feel free to leave notes in the planner if you need to communicate to the school. Please return planner to school the next day.

Completion Work:  Work sent home to be finished up after a reasonable amount of class time was provided.

If you find that your child is bringing home a significant amount of completion work, it may be because they are not making good use of class time, or are having difficulty with the material.  Feel free to contact your child's teacher with any concerns you may have.  Please note:  Completion work does not count as homework on the weekends.
