Home Reading

Home Reading Program

Children learn to read by reading and rereading their favourite stories! They also learn how language is "put together" by listening to stories and talking about them and the illustrations that accompany them.

All children are encouraged to read for 15 minutes at home each day. Your child may choose to read a book from home or read online through the program they use in computer class called RAZ Kids. Their homework reading sheets from the Read Well Program at school counts too!

Optional:

Need reading incentive? Keep track of your child’s reading in their reading log. Please date and initial your child’s reading log. They will write the title of the book and one word they can read. When your child has read for 20 nights please send the reading log to school so your child can choose a prize and bring home a new reading log.
